May featured artist Jerry O’Donnell has been a fiber person since the mid 1960s. He is now exploring the manipulation of fiber felting materials, and using an admiration for the works of late artist, Mark Rothko, he can now explore color balance without the constraint of linear construction demanded by loom weaving.
Carolyn Raines joined Elements Gallery recently. She says, “Art has been a form for communicating my feelings and experiences. I began early, working with clay and needle arts, in a creative environment set by artistic parents. Fabric and yarns became fascinations as I shaped them in imaginative ways. A result has been colorful fabric bowls, small unique knitted children and quilts. I am constantly looking for new ways to use colors and textures in fabric and yarns.”Elements Gallery is a growing co-op of around forty artists exhibiting a wide range of art in different media. Paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass art, wood turning, fiber art and mixed media is for sale. Our phone number is 336-790-8703.
